Tours and itineraries

Kerala Konnections offer independent and tailor made tours throughout Kerala and parts of Tamil Nadu (Kanyakumari). You can visit the beautiful beaches of the south, the national parks in the mountains, the tea and spice plantations, cruise down the backwaters, stroll through the enchanting city of Fort Kochi and see where the three oceans meet at the tip of India.

We cover the following destinations:

Varkala: Meet and greet in Casa Eva Luna by Kerala Konnections with native English speaking personnel. Activities available in Varkala for clients to choose are:

  • Ayurvedic massages and treatments packages
  • Indian cooking classes
  • Yoga, mediation and reiki courses and classes
  • Reflexology, Shiatzu and Bengali massages
  • Excursions to local tourist sites around Varkala area (visit the temple situated on an island, followed by a visit to the Antenjo fort, Sivagiri Ashram, then onto the 2000 year old Janardhanapuram Temple, together with a delicious picnic)
  • Relax on the beach, join in the many festivals or just kick back with a good book in the hammock

Alleppey: Situated three hours north of Varkala. This area is of authentic natural beauty, surrounded by the famous backwaters. Here you can enjoy a backwater cruise, from 1 to 7 days aboard a "Kettuvalam" (Keralan traditional boat). These boats are small luxury floating houses where you can enjoy all the comforts and experience the life on the backwaters.

Kochi: Situated two hours north of Alleppey is the beautifully city of Fort Kochi. Discover the charm of its tranquil streets with its Portuguese churches, Jewish district with its small synagogue and stroll along the promenade to see the daily catch being pulled in. Enjoy Indian classical music concerts and experience the traditional Keralan dance, "Kathakali"

Munnar: Situated four hours inland of Kochi at 1500 metres above sea level. Here is where most of Keralas tea and coffee is produced. You can explore the many national parks (Indira Gandhi and Eravikulam) of the surrounding area by jeep. You can also, visit the sandalwood and eucalyptus forests, the amazing waterfalls as well as a large variety of flora and fauna. Munnar is a good place to just kick back with a delicious coffee in the main bazaar or simply take a stroll between the plantations and mountains.

Kumily: Situated four hours south of Munnar at 1200 metres above sea level. Kumily is a beautiful and relaxing area that houses the Periyar National Park. Here you can enjoy a jeep safari for a few days or simply take a boat ride and a few hours trekking with a local guide. In Periyar you can see Bengali tigers, elephants, wild boar and a very large variety of flora and fauna.

Kanyakumari: Located at the very tip of India in the neighbouring state of Tamil Nadu, also know as Cape Comorin. Kanyakumari is the place where the three oceans meet, the Bay of Bengal and the Arabian and Indian Ocean. It’s also famous for the phenomenon that occurs on full moon, when the sun sets and the moon rises nearly simultaneously. Kanyakumari is also a pilgrim town where worshippers come from all over India and has one of the most sacred temples in South India the Kumari Amman Temple.
